Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [a]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. – Genesis 1:26-27 Check out Genesis 1:26-27.

There are a couple of pretty impressive things at work here. First, God used the word “we” to describe Himself in verse 26. Remember, that‘s what you focused on this week in Bible study. The Trinity. God as three in one. It’s a fantastic concept that honestly is a little tricky to wrap our minds around. But there’s something else at work here, too. Don’t sleep on the fact that God created you in His image. That doesn’t mean you look like God in the way that you look like your mom or dad. It says that you have a glimpse, a SPARK, of the Creator in you. God made you to reflect Him, to imitate His character and His ways as you do life each day. God wanted you to be a model of Him, and so He made you be able to spread His image in the world around you. Don’t lose sight of the fact that you are an image-bearer of God. Spend some time reflecting today on exactly what that looks like in your life.

Think about this:
• What do you think it means to bear God’s image as you live your life?
• How can you use your life today to point others toward Jesus?
